The house
Villa Puy Jaloux is the prettiest house in a small village called Teyssonière, which consists only of a few farmhouses and gites. The house is situated on a hill at the end of a dead end road in a park like garden of 1 acre with a stunning large swimming pool of 7 x 15 m. The spacious lounge with chestnut beamed ceiling has a magnificent fireplace and four French doors to the terrace, which stretches for about 30 m along the villa and the master bedroom. Add to this many quality furnishings, comfortable bathrooms and a new country style kitchen, one has a villa of great charm and character, with all the modern conveniences. The swimming pool, pétanque and the built in barbecue are floodlit at night. One can find plenty of shade in the front garden under mature trees or under the pergola on the terrace and ample sunshine on the loungers around the pool, where magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed. The villa is spacious and tastefully furnished with an authentic atmosphere.

Accommodation
The entrance in the tower brings you through the hall into the spacious L-shaped living with two lounge area’s, one around the fireplace and one next to the French doors and a dining area with china cabinet and extendable table. In the side board some games and children’s video’s can be found. Do bring your own DVDs and CD’s. The fully equipped country style kitchen with round table seating four has French doors to the front garden. In the west wing of the house is the Romantic Master Bedroom with French doors to the terrace has a bed of 160 x 200 cm, side tables, and dressing table with mirror, wardrobe, chairs and reading lights. Next door is a spacious ground floor bathroom with bath/shower and double wash basin. The laundry machine and tumble dryer are here as well. In the hall is a separate toilet with wash hand basin.

Terrace
Patio with built-in barbecue, large dining area with umbrella and another table under the Wisteria providing shade all day. Around the pool are sun beds, chairs, tables and umbrellas. On the boules pitch is also table tennis. The terrace and boules pitch can be flood-lit at night.

1st Floor
1 Master bedroom with double bed of 160 x 200 cm, dressing table, mirror, wardrobe, side tables and reading lights. 2 Twin Rooms with side tables, wardrobe and reading lights. 1 Triple room with three single beds, reading lights, side tables and wardrobe. 1 Bathroom with bath/shower and wash basin. Separate toilet with wash basin. The beds are new and come with duvets and pillows, mattress protectors and extra blankets. Sheets and towels will be provided. You only have to bring your own beach towels.

The Garden
From the gate to the front of the house is a long drive way along a park like garden with old pine trees. The carport with wood storage will fit two cars. At the back of the house on the sunny side is a terrace over the full length of the house with vines and wisteria growing over the arches along the terrace. Steps take you down to the pool area. The swimming pool is 14 x 7 m with a large terrace and lawn around it with flowering hibiscus and a catalpa tree. The neighbouring forest, hedges and fences provide complete privacy in and around Puy Jaloux. The swimming pool has an alarm system for security.

The area
Teyssonière is on a hill bordering the lake of Marcillac. A footpath brings you down to the waterfront. The lake is 9 km long with a sandy bottom and the water temperature is very comfortable in July and August. There is a choice of footpaths leaving from Teyssonniere for longer or shorter hikes. The roads are very quiet and suitable for (mountain) biking. There are Tennis courts in Marcillac and 18-hole golf courses at Tulle, Brive and Neuvic just within 1 hours drive. Marcillac is only 4 km away and offers two public beaches, a sailing and a water-ski club. Shops like a bakery and butcher, a kiosk and even a bank can be found here too. A list of restaurants and sight seeing recommendations is available in the house. The area offers lovely unspoilt villages and towns and chateaux where cultural events take place during the summer months. The river Dordogne is only a few kilometres away. From Argentat (23 km) trips with canoes or kayaks can be started just there. The gorges of the Dordogne upstream are highly popular for hikers and the still water there is wonderful for swimming.

Gastronomy
The area is famous for some very authentic French produce like foie gras ( goose liver), chevre (goats cheese), a selection of local mushrooms, honey, game, duck, and of course the famous Limousin beef. Marcillac has a trout farm where one can fish for your own dinner.

Teysonnière is situated on the route D18 from Egletons to Argentat, 4 km south of Marcillac-la Croisille. You can find Egletons between Tulle and Clermont Ferrand on the N89. Egletons: 19 km, Argentat 27 km, Tulle, 23 km.
