Villa Puy Glény
5 Bedroom Country House with Private Pool in the Dordogne Valley
Sleeps max. 14

Villa Puy Glény is a characteristic French country house, perched on a hill in the Dordogne Valley, just 10 minutes from the picturesque town Argentat. The house was built in 1940 in a typical French way with many small windows with shutters, a country style kitchen on the ground floor with French doors to the terrace and a separate sitting room with a fireplace upstairs. The house is divided in two independent units, Van Gogh on the left with 2 bedrooms and Monet with 3 bedrooms on the right side, which makes it a perfect house to rent for 2 or more families together; A big villa with a private pool for all, but privacy for each family as well. The units can be rented individually or together. It has a lovely garden of 2400 square meters bordering a stream, which flows into the River Dordogne after about 100 meters. From the terrace you have a great view into the valley and the remains of a 12th century monastery.

The terraced garden
Monet has a beautiful south facing terrace made of old sleets with herb garden and lots of lavender, that attract hundreds of butterflies. Shade can be found under the Catalpa, with her enormous heart shaped leaves. The terrace is large enough for two garden tables and 14 chairs in the shade for typical French lunch with family and friends. The terrace of Van Gogh faces south west and is separated of Monet by a honeysuckle grown wall for privacy. An old Linden tree gives ample shade when you need to get out of the sun. From here you enjoy a lovely view from the terrace into the garden overlooking the remains of the 12th century monastery in the valley. Steps take you down into the garden with the swings, the boules area, badminton net, table tennis and the salt water swimming pool. The pool has been safely fenced off and has loungers, umbrellas and a picnic table on the terrace.
